Sure, you can probably find other comparably-featured GPS satnav units for less than $269.95, but those units aren't going to feature voice guidance and turn-by-turn directions in the original voice of K.I.T.T.

Now you can get all you need to be a modern-day Michael Knight, but without all that leather-clad cheese.

The finale of The Wire on HBO the other night made me think of other brilliant series that I was sorry to see go.

Carnivale had all kinds of great things going for it that made its cancellation at the end of season two all the more heartbreaking: an engrossing, epic storyline, fantastic characters, a sense of mystery, and an authentic-feeling portrayal of what life must have been like during the Great Depression--albeit amidst a traveling carnival with supernatural elements.

As with most series, the first two seasons were the best. Meanwhile, it's easy to get all muddled with the evolving cast of super-powered characters and the meandering storylines. This book will help you put it together, or help you jump on board if you want to enjoy the new, current season.
