I am the Animation Director for Electronic Arts Tiburon. Prior to my position here in Florida, I was Sr. Technical Animation Director for EA Canada, and Animation Director for NBA Street:Homcourt and Marvel Nemesis.
I was a Sr. Animator for Kleiser-Walczak and Giant Studios, specializing in CG stunt work for Hollywood blockbusters. I worked on films such as "Lord of the Rings" (motion capture R&D), "X2" (rigging and animation lead for Mystique), "the ONE" (digital stunts, and digital double facial replacement, "Blade 2" (reaper effects R&D), and have done previs and fight choreography for "Transformers", "the Alchemist", and "Jumper".
I have owned 7 cars and 3 bikes in last 5 years, and test drive pretty much every new sports car and bike I can.

For people interested in animation, buddhism, fun, kids, movie, morality, lessons, ... The film was FUN, fresh, entertaining, exciting, FUNNY, endearing, and to me the Buddhist lessons of the film made it one of the most morally beneficial films I have taken my children to see. Not only that, my kids LOVED this film. 4 Months after seeing it my Daughter still runs around screaming "I Love Kung Fu" and my son is eagerly awaiting the DVD release date. Next to "the Incredibles" this film sits in my mind as one of the most fun and entertaining animated films I have seen. The animation of Dreamworks has finally dethroned the brilliant animators at Pixar for quality of motion. The story is great, Jack Black is at his best (while not being raunchy), and the film is just as entertaining as it could be. Between Wall-E and this film, hands down with no hesitations "Kung Fu Panda" wins out (sadly it's more important with most critics to shove a political message down your throat, than make an entertaining animated feature). The messages of morality, self-confidence, trust, overcoming adversity, and showing how anyone can succeed if they just get back up when they are down... to me these lessons of Kung Fu Panda are far more important for my kids (at the age they are.. 7 and 3) than the dangers global warming and corporate greed (while still important messages).

For people interested in animation, spider-man, comics, action This show really broke through with animation quality on an afternoon cartoon, with very few re-use of characters. We expected many seasons from the amazing crew at Mainframe, and sadly this is all we have. A sure bet for any fan of Spider-Man. Sadly they were not allowed to use the most classic villains because of licensing issues with Sony, but they really pulled out some great new villains for Spider-Man to clash with and pulled from other Marvel series and the less well known Spider-Man foes. One of my 6 year old son's favorite and most worn out DVDs we own.

For people interested in animation, shrek, dreamworks, family In general "Shrek 3" just fell short in the areas that made the other 2 funny. First off, Eddie Murphy, who basically MADE "Shrek 2" and was a huge part of the comedy in "Shrek 1", is pretty much played down in this one, his role is reduced to one on level with the 3 little pigs. Which is a huge mistake. Antonio Banderas reprises his role as puss-in-boots, and again, doesn't have a big enough part. The character development for Arthur is weak, Merlin is totally under-used (as Eric Idle joins fellow "Pythoner" John Cleese, and brings Merlin to life in a very comical way, I would have liked to have included him as a main-cast character). Sad to end the series on a low note, but it just didn't "Bring the Shrek" for me.

For people interested in animation, penguins, cute, funny, entertaining In general, the acting was good, the story was cute, and if you can get over the documentary style and occasionally annoying steady-cam thing, the rendering is quite impressive. I would say it's a solid rental, but even I (the guy who owns pretty much every animated feature) wouldn't add it to my library, simply because I can't see watching it more than once, and the kids just didn't enjoy it. It feels to me more like a straight to DVD story, with a theater polish.
