"Green" sex toys? Yes, there is such a thing. In doing some research for my latest book, I came across Transports of Delight, "crafters of bespoke exotic hardwood dilettos." Their products are not only beautiful, but the hardwood they use is environmentally friendly: they use suppliers who encourage replanting. So you can feel good...about feeling good. Anyway, they sent me this version--the Quiver--made out of tulipwood. It's lovely, smooth and sexy. I'll update this review after I've 'tested" it. But on aesthetics alone: high marks.

So it's not exactly a "baby" product...but it's such a brilliant idea I had to Loot it. This clever clock changes color when it's "OK" for your preschooler to get out of bed. For parents dealing with 5am wakeup calls, this could be a godsend. (I also like that the product picture on the Web site feature the Twitter failwhale, but that's just me.) I'm happy to report, too, that this gadget WORKS. I told my son that he could come into our room when the light turns green...and sure enough, he now almost always waits until the light turns green (7am) before waking us up. It is a MIRACLE. The interface is a little hard to figure out, but I'm not complaining if it gets me ONE HALF HOUR MORE SLEEP.

It seems that sex toys aren't so tacky anymore, not when hot-shot designers are getting into the act, so to speak. The shape of Tom Dixon's "Bone" vibrator was inspired by "ancient fertility symbols." Wow, is all I can say.

Now even famous industrial designers are getting into the luxe adult toy market. The C-Shell is "designed to be beautiful and functional, with its large loop handle providing a comfortable and secure grip." This is important. Also important is the fact that the C-Shell delivers some of the strongest vibrations of any product on the market. Battery-operated. Yup: want one.

The stones are conflict-free, so you can feel good...while feeling good. This little guy will set you back $3,250. If you're not feeling so flush. you can get one in gold for $2,750. So you may have heard about Ben Wa balls, but the LUNA pleasure bead system makes much more sense for gals wanting to do their Kegels and get their PC muscles in shape. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, your loss. But if you're female, Kegels are the road to nirvana.) LUNA's "medical-grade" silicone beads are attractive and well designed (a LUNA trademark), and come in two weights to offer "increased resistance over time." Oh, and don't forget the "hygienic retraction leash." Working out was never so much fun. (Note: I'm giving LUNA 4 stars instead of 5 only because I haven't tried them yet.)

When my son was an infant, we tried almost everything to soothe him to sleep: swings, slings, bouncy chairs, you name it. One technique that worked well was to bounce gently on a large excercise ball. But it wasn't the most attractive thing to have in your living room. The Bounce-A-Bye Baby, in contrast, would look nice in any nursery. It's fairly easy to inflate, and seems sturdy enough for lots of use. The only complaints I have were 1) the plastic smell when I first opened the package and 2) the ball seems to deflate after a few days. Available in 3 designs.

The idea of having hot wax dripped on my skin usually brings to mind the painful memory of my last bikini wax, not erotic play. But Jimmyjane has created these beautiful candles that not only smell good, but have a lower melting point so that when you blow them out, you can use them to massage your partner. Sure, I'll give it go. Why not?

Oh, lordy. The images alone are worth the price of the book. Some of the stories in this collection are laugh-out-loud funny, even though you might be laughing a little nervously. I especially liked the chapter of stories on inappropriate relationships, no doubt because I've had so many. Special mention goes to the tale of chest-waxing-gone-awry.
